4b Adults really can still have ADHD
2. Often makes decisions impulsively. 
  and may regret them almost immediately.    

Their lack of  
foresight is a medical condition;
much like being nearsighted  
requires glasses.   

Actually, sight problems 
are often the cause of behaviors similar to ADHD.
 Problems with eye sight  caused 
significant behavior problems for my son.

   The may seem very creative as their 
interests are more varied. 

They may see challenges from a different perspective             
 to come up with unique solutions  


Spontaneous Eating usually leads    
to over eating  and obesity.  
  Money will always be a problem  
     

Careless mistakes  and 
poor attention to detail
makes them    accident prone.   

3. Often has difficulty stopping activities or
behavior when he/she should.   
Lying     
or Cheating  
 Theft  

• Smart Ass -  
   Blurting things out -

4. Often starts a project or task without reading or listening to instructions.
 Starts the game without knowing the rules.
 

Great enthusiasm for interesting topics  - "eager puppy"
They may run around like their hair is on fire.

5. Often shows poor follow-through on promises or commitments to others. Which leads to constant bickering    




Higher rates of divorce
and broken relationships   

6. Often has trouble doing things in proper order or sequence.
 bored by mundane details    

7. Often drives a motor vehicle faster than others (excessive speeding)

• Accidents and traffic tickets are more common  

as erratic behavior causes problems including road rage.

8. Often has difficulty sustaining attention to tasks or leisure activities.

  Can't sit through a movie or lecture
"Space Cadet" - daydreamer     
"Earth to…"    Houston we have a problem

Everyone sees things from a different perspective.
People with ADHD have many perspectives all their own.

Inconsistent performance - A's  &  F's   
on same subject / same time period  

  I couldn't ell you how many times I've heard,  

"he's not living up to his potential"
from a Teacher Conference  

9. Often has difficulty organizing tasks and activities.

• Reminders -      calendars,     organizers,   computer alarms,    
•     etc…   

Remember; any 6 of these 9 symptoms must show up in

2 different environments.

ADHD symptoms in adults are often hidden 
behind Comorbid disorders.
